A robot mower is a valuable machine left in an open garden, so theft is a common worry. Most models make a stolen mower useless with a PIN code, and many add alarms, lift sensors and GPS tracking.
Anti-theft features to look for
- PIN or app lock: the mower won't work for anyone else.
- Lift and tilt alarm: sounds when it is picked up.
- Geofence: alerts you if it leaves the garden.
- GPS tracking: shows where it is. Often needs a 4G plan after the free period; Husqvarna includes 10 years.

Insurance
Check your home contents policy: many limit cover for items kept in the garden, or exclude theft from an unlocked area. Ask your insurer whether a robot mower is covered when left out, and whether you need to list it as a high-value item. Keep the receipt and serial number.
A garage or a dock in a less visible spot also helps.
